Hello there! I am Dr Gwenaëlle Lefeuvre and I am an industrial physicist. I work in a SME where I am in charge of research and develoment of a department I created, as well as sales, marketing and collaborating with research groups and other companies.
I trained as an experimental physicist. I was led to physics at a very young age by amazing people… and a deep irritation when I could not understand the why and how.
I studied physics in France, all the way to my PhD. After that, I enjoyed several years as a post-doctoral researcher in the USA and in the UK.
Ultimately, I realised that an academic career wasn’t for me, and that what was fun in my day work could remain fun outside academia. I didn’t fit the specialist stereotype and I didn’t want to. So I quit the university world, and I never regretted it.
In this site I express my personal opinions about careers in science. Please take them with a pinch of salt, and see what would work for you. I will be happy to continue on LinkedIn the reflections I may initiate here.
